You can try it yourself, here:
    https://www.thedinnerdecider.au/

    Here’s the opening screen:
    0ypM8H7Gw2K5rSa.jpg
    (right-click as needed)

I’ll try the Food Battle for this playthrough.

Below you can see the various options for setting up the battle:
    eiQks7TuLAKeA5K.png

    The 16 icons above represent:
Italian, Mexican, Japanese, American, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mediterranean,
Vietnamese, French, British, Australian, Greek, Korean, Spanish, and dessert.

You can pick however many you like to form the ‘combatants.’ At the moment, looks like there’s ~95 total dishes in the database.

    eNwRumEidZplch7.jpg
The game begins, and you start seeing head-to-head choices, like the above. You choose one, and will be moved on to the next choice, eventually coming to the semi-finalists, already pictured up top.

Finally… winner, winner, duckling dinner! You’ll usually see a bit of tips & trivia about your final choice, and often times a recipe, and then some local recommendations, from which you can order a meal, if you like.

I found the game fun and easy as pie. Last time I briefly chatted with him, the dev (u/Right-Percentage9882) is also taking feedback and ideas. Once again, the site is be: https://www.thedinnerdecider.au/

Btw, here’s an Imgur backup of the screenshots, if needed:
    https://imgur.com/gallery/playthrough-of-dinner-decider-online-tool-to-help-deciding-what-to-eat-koFmxGM

Btw2, I happened to randomly discover this hidden gem when browsing recent web games. Anybody know if we have a community for such (or online games / browser games) across the Fediverse…?

Because I have more fun stuff to share with y’all, if so! 😄

      Hi everyone!
I’m the creator of The Dinner Decider.

JohnnyEnzyme (who is amazing!) shared a link to this post over on Reddit, and I just had to come here to say thank you.

Wow. This is the most incredible, detailed feedback I’ve ever received. Reading your playthrough notes is so helpful and honestly just makes my day. Thank you so much, Johnny, for taking the time to write all this up and share it!

And snokenkeekaguard@lemmy.dbzer0.com is the GOAT of sharing wonderful streams of artistic works. Check 'em out!

          manulkkase,
Wow, so you made an acct here, yuh bloody ripper! 😄

Btw, as long as you’re here, please do check out the Fediverse if you get a chance. It’s our collective little alternative to Reddit (et al), spread across a network of FOSS softwares and sites, in which we the users aren’t being monetized for our contributions, and have real say in shaping how the experience unfolds…

(haha okay, there’s done my shilling for the day XD)

This is an awesome idea and executed so great. I got beef pho and on Friday I’m going to get a bowl. I can’t wait.
