I strongly approve of taking inspiration from superheroes for sorcerer subclasses. IMO, the best way to broaden the concept of the sorcerer without *losing* the concept of the sorcerer is to say that while a wizard has an education and a warlock has a magic sugar daddy, a sorcerer has a superhero origin.
