Good lord, virtually no one in Michigan can drive.

Good lord, virtually no one in Michigan can drive.
Even fewer people can drive in Detroit.
And I-75 anywhere near the I-375 junction is a death trap created by a collosal failure of civic engineering.
And of course, most pavement in Michigan was last repaired over 30 years ago.

In 1995, one of my Clarion classmates had to drive from Lansing to Detroit to pick up his girl at the train station.
I told him to be careful, Detroit drivers are special. He sneered that he was from Boston, he'd be fine.
Upon his return, he was still pale and shaking. Looked at me with haunted eyes and said "What the hell is wrong with Detroit drivers?"
I doubled over laughing, because I'm a bad person.

Think? Nope. It's true. Using a turn signal *is* giving comfort (fine, you said intelligence. That too.) to the enemy.Boston drivers are aggressive but are actually good drivers with a willingness to allow other drivers to do weird shit to recover from the mass of one way streets around Boston. Other places are scary!
