So docking my Steam Deck to a CRT went from “LOL! What will happen…” to “Wow! This is awesome!”

For AAA titles, it’s a mixed bag. Text is hard to read and the resolution ain’t so good. But ray tracing is incredible.

But for indie and retro games—incredible! The biggest innovation in modern graphics is lighting. And CRTs really excel at that.

This is no small thing either. When a CRT smooths over chonky pixels but delivers that glorious glow, it is beautiful.
