"During the quarter that ended June 30, Wilds sales had fallen by more than 95% from its launch quarter,"
Oh dang, I had no idea post-release sales of #MonsterHunterWilds were THAT dire. From 10m on launch to 477k in the three months after. Wow. That's awful.
I know everybody's gonna throw in their pet peeve as the reason for this, but if I've said it once I've said it a million times, if you can't maintain your core audience, you don't get the positive word of mouth that leads to mainstream acceptance.
#MonsterHunter had a huge lead with its core audience going into release, and blew it in a spectacular panoply of ways. And this is the result.

Honestly this brings me no pleasure, either. For all the frustration I've had with Wilds, I do actually like it and I enjoyed the time I spent with it.
I just wish I could play it for more than two hours without random crashing.

As with most things these days, I blame investors.
