As in every year since 2021, Defcon is a super spreader event. Many COVID infections are NOT symptomatic: not showing symptoms does not guarantee not carrying the highly contagious virus.

My sister traveled from Florida 2 weeks ago. She inadvertently gave my elderly mother Covid a week later. My mom has been in the hospital since then.
My husband and I got boosted in January, but wore masks while sitting with her in the hospital. My husband has got Covid in spite of these precautions.
It is out there.
