    Mornin.
    Been thinking a lot about how much one should shoulder the burden of care.
    I have never been good at caring the right amount. Too much or not at all.
    I need to figure this out.

      @Fireweed@famichiki.jp

      It's something I have been wrestling with a lot the last year as well. I find I care too much, try to do too much, and end up suffering bouts of Compassion Fatigue and isolation.

      I don't know if it fits your situation, but something of a north star I'm seeking is focusing on the mutual aspect. I will probably always feel more responsibility to care more than the other individual, but mutual care should exist and be cultivated, even if it requires artificially requesting it (e.g., "Can you do X for me?") just to train those muscles, and I should not too greatly exceed that level of mutual return.

      And the lower bound ... I guess it's as little as you can stomach while still being at peace with yourself. Still haven't figured this one out at all. We can't save everyone, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't save anyone either. Each of us is all we have. I don't know. I just know I feel the struggle. Let me know if you figure something out.

        @NullNowhere I think part of it is that I have quit consuming alcohol at the rate I was and I haven’t replaced that outlet of stress relief.
        I also believe that I am burnt out from working through the holidays and my body is finally letting me know.
        All I can do is keep at it and see what I can do to get better.

          @Fireweed@famichiki.jp alcohol self-medication is never a good thing, so I am glad you are off that track. I hope you’re able to recover and that things slow down for you.
