Maybe it was done on purpose for rage-baiting?

The article made me nauseous because it sounded so steeped in capitalism / hyper-growth / the cult of numbers... all things antithetical to the values of the Fediverse.

I really like Casey Newton & I've been following his work for years, but this coverage of the Fediverse is off the mark.
