@Tim_Eagon I've tried Shadowdark a few times and it's honestly never grabbed me. It is definitely a good stepping stone from D&D5e to a more old-school style of play, but to me that makes it feel too close to the 5e style, which has made me decide that it's not for me-- I am not the audience for which it was intended.

anyone played a TTRPG named Dungeon Crawl Classics?@synlogic I like it better than something like D&D5e but it is still far too crunchy for my taste. Lots of dice to remember and tables to flip through and weird mechanics that don't come up often enough for you to get a good handle on them
