Consider the best of what recent #StarTrek has to offer:
Erica Ortegas and Hemmer on #StrangeNewWorlds #SNW were new characters with quick wits, interesting quirks, and relatable complexities. Since their fates were unknown, the writers could do anything…even kill them off…while still respecting the existing canon that gives Trek a rich universe to play in.
And don't forget #TheOrville's popularity: This alternate Trek timeline is all about the characters and optimistic stories. We want more!

This seems to miss the real problem: For decades the public has demanded a different #StarTrek than the one #Paramount #CBS was willing to produce.
We want optimism, not incessant prequels, rehashing of old characters, and empty VFX pew-pew.
