@Taskerland My second-grade teacher read the Faraway Tree stories and possibly some others to us in class, and my primary school library was fairly well stocked with other titles, as I recall.
Sometime in the late 1980s, though, criticisms of racism and sexism (which had been around since the 1960s, TBF) started to stick, and Blyton was either sanitised or removed from the shelves.

Also, I’d like to see some evidence supporting #ElonMusk's claims that #DonaldTrump's in the #EpsteinFiles, whatever that entails. Not that #Trump will ever face any sort of justice—the #GOP's too malignant a cesspool to see their posterboy in a courtroom—but it's nice to have receipts to hand to prove that you're not actually dreaming shit up.

@Tim_Eagon Oddly enough, I think it was around 1995 or 1996 that radio stations in the US started massively consolidating, and decisions around radio playlists became increasingly centralised. I imagine that played a role, too.
