Erol Otus drew art for Dave Hargrave's Arduin Grimoire (1977). Later on TSR staff, Erol drew the regional map for White Plume Mountain with the caption, "Beyond to the lair of Dragotha, the undead dragon, where fabulous riches and hideous death await." An electrifying bit of flavor!"

I’m easily amused by Halloween decorations that seem more D&D than spooky like this ogre I met in the neighborhood.I’m easily amused by Halloween decorations that seem more D&D than spooky like this ogre I met in the neighborhood.

After my 1st-level party met a gelatinous cube, I'm thinking about it's transparency. After my 1st-level party met a gelatinous cube, I'm thinking about it's transparency. Originally surprise on 1-3. As a DM, I've been inconsistent in running that aspect.
We spotted the cube once and ran away (smart), and later walked right into it (1 dead PC and nearly 2 more).
I once played a game where we spotted gear seemingly floating in a hall. Fun and not so obvious as you might suppose!

GameHole has an event where you can join legendary Traveller creator Marc Miller to roll up PCs!GameHole has an event where you can join legendary Traveller creator Marc Miller to roll up PCs!
Folks tend to chuckle about how Traveller PCs can die during creation, but Marc owns it as a solo mini-game and an early life-path system.
I played that mini-game a lot.

My D&D tastes are too narrow to love the Candyland meets fairytale aesthetic of Dragon Delves: Chapter 2 - Baker's Doesn't, but I still enjoyed the adventure. My D&D tastes are too narrow to love the Candyland meets fairytale aesthetic of Dragon Delves: Chapter 2 - Baker's Doesn't, but I still enjoyed the adventure. It included dark contrasts and when we met obstacles, I felt like we had a lot of options. https://youtu.be/OA9b6YrBrzE?si=2yp7VH-c2Z17YYa6

I relished his thought provoking post on the mix of magic and mundane in fantasy and how D&D keeps steering to more unreal worlds. https://www.onefootinfairyland.com/a-wizard-creates-a-mountain-the-mountain-creates-a-rain-shadow/

I always wished WotC would bring in character optimization experts to help develop their character options.I always wished WotC would bring in character optimization experts to help develop their character options.
Well, the lead designer of 2014 5E @mikemearls did this on behalf of Chaosium by bringing in
@chrishonkala to help make Cthulhu by Torchlight outstanding. -

Like AI: I use em-dashes. (Alt-0151)
Not like AI: I do low-probability things like using behind-the-scenes stories from the making of Star Wars to make a point about D&D.

On a thread, 5 of 8 gamers rated Curse of Strahd and Tomb of Annihilation as the 2 best 5E D&D adventures.@KeithAmmann Both adventures do a great job of giving players a sense of freedom while still directing them to an end goal

The same 2 made my list of best adventures since 1985. Do gamers like dungeons more than WotC thinks? Does my gaming circle share similar tastes?
