@Jackgiantkiller There's a small football club near us. Their parking lot is not fenced or gated. There's a carwash there during the day and I cut through it on the way to our local supermarket.

There's a car that's been parked in there for months. Sometimes at night there are two people sitting in it. Sometimes there's a row of shoes under the rear bumper. I never stop to ask why.
