People think practices like restorative justice are ways to be “soft on crime.” Even left-leaning people.@FinalGirl our view on crime is so screwed by the racists. They'll complain restricting a kid to his house for selling weed is to soft, they should go in prison (which is dumb, prison here are already at 150% capacity and in prison they meet real criminal).
Meanwhile, assign one for stealing a couple millions of public money and it's justice gone political, nevermind that justice is part of the political system and that the left didn't hold power in like the last 50 years
