@Lyle I'm our city's transportation commission and board of public works. Sidewalk installation always bring out a small but very loud number of people in opposition. Thankfully, our city has a longstanding policy to install sidewalks, with very few exceptions. But those meetings are never pleasant.

One thing that has helped: #MadisonWI changed the assessment policy for sidewalks a few years back: Property owners no longer are assessed the cost of the sidewalk when a street is reconstructed.

@Tim_Eagon Yikes. I biked to the grocery store very carefully. Don't think I saw any ice on the road, but I deliberately avoided an overpass that probably would have been icy.

The #MadisonWI Transportation Commission will receive an update and make a decision about the experimental lane closures on Williamson Street this Wednesday. So it was time to take another look at the Google Routes travel time estimate data that I have been collecting since the trial started. Costumes were encouraged at yesterday's #MadisonWI Board of Public Works meeting. I went as "John Nolen Drive Reconstruction." To complement the costume, I had a photo of the construction as my Zoom background. Sadly, with the virtual background turned on, Zoom filtered out my traffic cone hat.
