Come to think of it, I think I only know that from... Essentially, legacy knowledge.
The Korok leaf is used in Wind Waker for wind based puzzles, like activating switches...
I think BotW and TotK probably have a lot of FAFO going on when it comes to figuring out how to do certain things. Unless you told this by an NPC... But I did very little of that in BotW
