@LightTheUnicorn One is when people boost stuff in languages I don't speak, but somehow it's not filtered by the "only show me English" setting. (Maybe the poster mis-tagged it). I mean, if I don't speak German, it's kinda a pointless thing to have on my feed.

Hide Boosts

Have a person you like to follow, but they boost a ton of stuff you don't like? Click their profile, go into their menu (like where you would block them) and there's a hide Boosts button.

It's legit made it possible for me to not unfollow people entirely when they boost too much irritating or triggering or whatever content.

@briankrebs I don't remember a number of those things even if I wanted to.

If your team is made up with a majority of men, but most of the documentation was written by people who aren't men, your team has a misogyny problem.

I will say, as a millennial, the idea of another $InsertBelovedChildhoodMediaFranchise movie/show may be a nice thought, but in practice, I don't think there's been a single one of these 20+ year later sequel/reboot/live action remakes that were any good at all, so I've stopped watching them entirely on general principle.

I can't believe I'm still having this conversation, but I'll say it again:

EVERYTHING created, managed, operated, bought, sold, used, consumed by human beings is "political". And it doesn't whether or not it's "free as in speech" or "free as in beer". If you ever find something that's "not political" that doesn't involve like pure math or science facts of the universe, it's because you're not looking hard enough and considering the people element involved. What are the missing stairs. The opportunity costs. The people who otherwise would have been there who aren't. The people who get attention and the people who don't. Why nothing is a "meritocracy" because merit is an artificial construct created and judged ... You guessed it ... By people. Who have implicit and explicit biases. How often do you judge things not on their own merits, but by "popularity", which people have endorsed it, how many stars or downloads or followers they have. It's people all the way down.

I mean, I know it's Because Merchandising, but why is it every on-screen ship you see in Star Wars outside of military ships is some unique model? Where's the Honda Civic or the Ford F-150 of spaceships?

I'm going to be very amused to watch much of Amazon's business model get royally fucked by the Trump Tariffs. A ridiculous amount of shit on Amazon is cheap Alibaba stuff drop shipped from China.
