Frankly, a lot of Europeans and Canadians talking about Trump's obscene threats of violence seem to be reacting with shock that he is threatening to do to white people what the US already does to brown people in other countries.It's weird.
The United States actually kidnapping the president of a sovereign nation and his wife gets less outrage than just talking about invading Greenland. You can say "but Venezuela isn't in NATO" and, sure, that's true. But both are the same thing: greedy resource grabs with no consideration of consequences by a wannabe dictator who does not believe in any rules other than his whims.
The United States loves to topple democratically elected governments and normally had broad support from the superpowers that matter.
But going after white people?
That's too much.
"Stand down, sir! You are embarrassing the alliance."
