@CactuarJoe I find this particularly frustrating in the context of speculative fiction media, because the whole point of speculative fiction is to imagine the world as other than it is. If you just get the same speculative fiction stories over and over again, it's no longer doing its job—no longer telling new stories about how the world *could be*.

That's nice _in theory,_ but most people just play with whatever off-mic randos join their team, so everyone wound up trying to make build-soloing raids so they personally could carry the team if everyone else had no idea what they were doing.

@CactuarJoe Counterspell is up there with Lightning Bolt on the list of cards that made MTG what it is and should be part of an always-available basic set. Everything else should be balanced around these cards.
