ACID is an acronym summarising 4 database properties considered as good quality criteria for databases. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACID.
If your database software is ACID, you have less chance to get data corrupted, especially when having concurrent access to it.
Another useful concept is database normalisation https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Database_normalization.
A 3NF ACID database is robust!!
