There is something called the "Crunchyroll Store".I am still receiving the daily spam mail from "Crunchyroll Store". I am completely baffled by the idea of commercial email list that takes "up to a week" to unsubscribe from. Does the unsubscribe request get mailed through the postal system and then processed by hand?

There is something called the "Crunchyroll Store".There is something called the "Crunchyroll Store". I don't know what they sell, I assume anime. On Oct 22 they sent me an email titled "Oops! Thought you'd ghosted us!" and, starting at this point, started emailing me heavily, a couple times a week, leading up to Nov 19 since when they've been emailing me every day, sometimes multiple times a day, with spam.
On Dec 3, I unsubscribed. The daily emails continued coming. I filed a support request and was told unsubscribe can take "up to week"

Some of the replies to my post have now escalated into “simply seize trillions in corporate assets, raze global data centers, salt the earth, and convert everything into cattle pasture.”'n'nWhich… impressive!@atomicpoet I believe that it is possible to do things.
Contrariwise, I believe that the "AI" behemoths use compromise as a form of marketing. I believe if you create your "harm reduction" AI they will use its existence, to regulators and the general public, to justify their greater-harm AI approaches. A warm, cuddly, "human-scale" plagiarism machine is optimally formed for their PR. I do *not* believe harm reduction is, in this case, possible.
But I believe your harm reduction *can* do harm.

"Open source models" are still AI models, and so cause harm. A cooperative is a funny looking corporation and so cooperative-run AI models are still AI models, and so cause harm, and also in the long run become corporate. Efficiency is not possible because the technology doesn't *work*, so the pressure to add more parameters to make it work will be ever present.
Coexistence with LLMs is surrender. I refuse to surrender.

I love how the public library is a space with power outlets and wifi where you are allowed to simply exist for a period of several hours without spending moneyI love how the public library is a space with power outlets and wifi where you are allowed to simply exist for a period of several hours without spending money

Does anyone want to play "Wrath of the Gods", an impressive-in-concept, dorky-in-execution, extremely 1994 CD-ROM "Multimedia" point and click adventure consisting entirely of photos/video of humans bluescreened into computer-created environmentsDoes anyone want to play "Wrath of the Gods", an impressive-in-concept, dorky-in-execution, extremely 1994 CD-ROM "Multimedia" point and click adventure consisting entirely of photos/video of humans bluescreened into computer-created environments
Because it turns out there's a fully functional HTML5 version on the web!

Folks it is now one hour until #MONSTERDON the weekly monster movie watch party.@CactuarJoe the nuclear satellite, because he had been entrusted with greater responsibility than the truck carrying toys, came to a deeper understanding of his own responsibility to others. perhaps if the toy truck had been trusted more, it too could have made better decisions. i have not seen this movie

- There was nothing on the other side of this door. It wasn't attached to a building or whatever. It was just a door.
-There was more, but I could not read it. Do you see?)

So it turns out if you google "Bitcoin private keys" Google finds this as nearly the top hit.So it turns out if you google "Bitcoin private keys" Google finds this as nearly the top hit. The page does not actually load, at least not from my ISP.
I wonder what this is or was. I guess a database of all *known* leaked cryptocurrency private keys would be a plausible thing someone could build.

Hello EU people:By the way, since I know there's lots Germans on Mastodon:
The need right now on the EU citizen petition against anti-LGBTQ "conversion therapy" ( https://mastodon.social/@mcc/114512352419261539 ) is raw votes from anywhere. BUT as it happens Germany's currently the closest %-wise to being the the 8th country to endorse the petition!
15.5k DE votes would turn Germany green on this map, and send a pro-LGBTQ message to German lawmakers¹:
¹ DE already has a local law banning gay/trans conversion therapy against minors.
