@vowe if all y'all had let the puritan jerks stay, this particular version of colonization in north america might have been avoid. maybe next time, keep your jerks and deal with them instead of setting them loose on other continents.

I've been a fan of Doctorow's writing for a long time and holy shit -- this thread about how the super rich & powerful don't believe the rest of us really exist is powerful.i was raised in a community that taught us the morbidly wealthy were corporeal demons, non-human, literal evil in meat-space and to accumulate wealth or to act to help others accumulate wealth was the devil's work.
