    @atomicpoet I’m very happy with folks doing this and reclaiming the public domain. I think it will get even easier to do with AI tools (although I’m not sure what the quality might be).

    @atomicpoet I have to imagine that AI is going to radically change the economics for these kind of “studios”.

  • There's a whole genre of British films where they cosplay as American Midwesterners, but they can't do American accents, so the whole thing is uncanny valley stuff.

    @oblomov @atomicpoet Oi, guv’ner! Pip pip, cheerio, and all that!

    @atomicpoet When watching British TV series, especially ones without huge budget, it’s hilarious to see/hear an obviously British actor playing an American. (This happens not infrequently on the mid-level UK detective shows we watch.)

  • #DnD advice: Recharge your dice by wrapping them up in old math homework
    Michael GemarM Michael Gemar

    @Nat1Advice That’s idiotic and superstitious.

    The scientific way to do this is to store your dice with the highest numbers face up, so that they learn what number should be rolled.

  • God damn, I hate these CFL rule changes.
    Michael GemarM Michael Gemar

    @atomicpoet Who wants to watch a watered-down, pale imitation of the NFL when the NFL is already on TV?

    The CFL used to be a different game, and that’s how it has survived.

  • Someone just told me the Velvet Underground aren’t as impactful as the Beatles because neither he nor his friends have ever heard of them.

    @atomicpoet “The Velvet Underground didn’t sell many records, but everyone who bought one went out and started a band.”

    @CactuarJoe @moira It’s a genuinely terrific and historically important film. It’s far above most #MONSTERDON fare.
