#Iran is such an interesting protests story right now.
I really don't trust most of the media coverage right now. The western media seems to be massively down playing key factors in this protests which will not change with a shift in leadership or even an overhaul of their government.
What are those root causes?
1. Economics: We've fucked their economy for decades, this generation wants ECONOMIC freedom FROM sanctions.
2. Climate change: Rural regions are suffering significant climate change
There's some more details about what happened at the high school ICE attempted to storm after murdering Renee Good.
It seems ICE rolled up with several vehicles and in short order ended up pepper spraying students and fighting with passers by.

Kash Patel's FBI seems to now be in charge of the inviestigation into Renee Good's murder at the hands of an ICE agent.
Which I think tells us all we need to know about the type of "justice" the Trump administration is preparing to dole out.

The more urgent need in the Seattle region is for more people to do EXACTLY what Renee Good was doing. Actively going to look for and observe ICE abductions in our area.
And as luck would have it, ICE has been quitely terrorizing our local immigrants and is largely going unopposed in Seattle as far as I can see for the last several months.
Lately there's been an uptick in ICE activity in North Seattle so if you're there this article is for you.
Another Seattle vigil honoring Renee Good is planned tonight on the waterfront.
This is definitely in the performative category of protesting but could be a safe entry point for folks new to activism.
Minneapolis public schools have cancelled classes today and for the rest of fhe week due to ICE activity yesterday that may have targeted a teacher AFTER ICE had already murdered Renne Good.
Out of an abundance of caution, there will be no school on Thursday, Jan. 8 and Friday, Jan. 9 due to safety concerns related to today’s incidents around the city.

While its always a joy to get out and demonstrate with comrades it was extremely disappointing to see these organizers, SAARPR, allowing cops to march directly in their protests.
Seattle cops will absolutely leave your protest crowd and observe from a distance which imo is far safer for everyone involved. However organizers MUST actively ask that the cops leave the crowd and there simply was no support from SAARPR on this even during anti police chants.
I see why people don't like SAARPR now.

Tonight in Seattle hundreds gathered immediately after work to denounce the murder of Renee Good at the hands of ICE agents.
During the demonstration speeches were given covering the local ICE arrests and the multiple recent ICE shootings across the US.

This is one of those situations where there's a LOT more context and details. (videos from tons of angles, several additional serious assaults, the medical negligence etc etc).
But at this very moment I think we're all really just wondering when will this murderous ICE goon get arrested and charged?
Because it better be today.

Governor Tim Walz spoke ealier this afternoon after placing the state National Gaurdsmen on alert for deployment and sent a CLEAR warning signal to ICE/DHS that he may deploy the Guard to deal with these dangerous ICE agents.
We'll see what happens.
As usual he remembers the Democrat refrain of "only peaceful protests", but we all know the US feds NEVER give a shit about whether or not any given protests is violent or not.
Strong words from Walz tho, lets hope he follows through.
