I have an AI policy page on my website: https://reillyspitzfaden.com/ai-policy/@screwlisp it's a good question. As far as calling it generative, I'm not sure what my answer would be. I have heard anecdotally that Google Translate used to be better before it moved from more traditional machine translation to LLMs.
Both in terms of my values and potential quality issues, I would definitely prefer to avoid using the current crop of LLM tools for either of these tasks, although I'm not opposed to the tasks themselves. I've been using Transcribro for speech to text on my phone (because of joint pain issues), and this is reminding me that I should check what technology that uses.
At any rate, for my website, I haven't used either speech to text or machine translation.

The short answer is that I don't use LLMs or similar technology for my site, and if anyone has any suggestions on things to clarify in this description of what software I do use, I would love to hear it!

Seeing all these random email screenshots keeps reminding me of the joke:@matt nice! It's something I only became aware of maybe a few years ago, and it very much makes sense to me.
Since I'm often in email trains with people who aren't in this habit, I haven't remembered to do it as much lately, but this is definitely reminding me that I want to.

Q: Why is top-posting frowned upon?

switched my editor font to maple mono and i like it https://font.subf.dev/en/@latte I'd been unsuccessfully looking for something to use instead of Fira Code (which is just OK), and I think this might do it! I haven't really known what I'm looking for, but I definitely like looking at this one:

Caw@fractalkitty omg I love it!

Caw@cR0w I took a recording of some crow calls and put it through a tape speed glitch effect I made in Max/MSP for another project.
I wanted to put my own spin on @fractalkitty's /caw page, and that's an effect I like to use on synths (it goes up and down by perfect 5ths, so it sounds more reasonable on musical sounds).

This Has Got To Stop@thelinuxcast very strongly agree with all of this. Which Android RSS client did you end up going with? I've been liking Capy Reader a lot.
