I like a good story where the little guy wins, even if it’s fictional.

We’ve always had this weird dichotomy in gazing on Trump - he’s stupid and a genius. He’s strategic but a buffoon.

I’m reminded of a criminal profiler who said: when you see a radical dichotomy in the MO of a murder, you’re probably looking for more than one perp.

I want to propose the thought experiment that we put a thumb over the image of Trump and see what the landscape looks like with him blocked out.

It is a wasteland of anger and agony, of the impossibly rich and contemporary serfdom. Of morality free consumption.

@cstross describes it best - although I think that the ‘christianity’ part, like Trump, is simply a coat hanger for a monstrous system.

@Remittancegirl@mstdn.social @liebach@mastodon.art I can rant *forever* about what's really going on here, but most people don't seem to get it: TESCREAL is essentially a new christian-influenced religion (using the same template, but minus the bible and god and jesus bits), forming in front of our eyes. Syncretistic, revelatory, evangelical. Blurs into toxic christianity at the edges (eg. Thiel). Has immense influence over the elite of the World-Empire, although its Emperor Constantine hasn't emerged yet.

I hope this is a cautionary tale for the media companies. I suspect that a majority of those who cancelled their Disney subscription will not renew it.

It’s only anecdotal, but once I am moved to cancel a service in order to show my displeasure for a company, they’ve lost me forever. I don’t think I’m the only one.

Perhaps companies should think before they suck up to Trump.

BREAKING: Kimmel is uncancelled (for now). But take note. ABC and Disney didn’t bring him back because of the law, morals, ethics, or any of those noble reasons. They’re bringing him back because they lost billions of dollars. Boycotts work. Boycott is the only language corporate greed understand. Keep piling on. Don’t let up. Fascist actions should have lasting consequences.
