OK, let's be clear about #Autism:
A majority of engineers, including software engineers, are #ActuallyAutistic; I suspect a majority of architects and people who invent new stuff generally are; many people in the creative arts are.
Without #Autism, we would have no culture, and very few machines of any kind at all.
Autism is not a disease: it is an essential component of a healthy society, and should be celebrated as such.

@atomicpoet it's not better to have untrustworthy transcription than no transcription at all. It's quite a lot worse.
It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that transcription, like translation, can be done well given the current state of the art, but... Do you trust today's AI companies to do that?
@atomicpoet Which, if they're paying attention, takes as much skill and concentration (and time) as transcribing it themselves, so precisely not labour has been solved. You've saved nothing and added one expensive step.
@atomicpoet if they're accurate transcriptions, yes. Trustworthy translations of other languages, or faithful audio readings of texts also have merit.
Untrustworthy, unfaithful, inaccurate? No.
@atomicpoet If we're going to have an Internet, people do actually need routers. If you make good routers at a good price, people will buy them. Routers are real -- and useful -- things.
No one needs things which generate texts which have no basis in truth.
