@so_treu unfortunately, "before using an app/signing up for a site you should ask who runs it, what their qualifications and principles are, and how it's funded" is not compatible with "apps should be easy to use, frictionless, and $0"and it's very hard to convince people that apps should be harder, less convenient, and less fun to use(I wrote out some more about this, then cut it and saved it in a file called social-media-pessimism.txt and am probably going to stay offline for much of the day lol)
