@stux @jorijn Does Postgres have the TCP port enabled? Common configuration is to use a unix socket only, which works for vanilla localhost but doesn't work when you need a real TCP socket to connect to.

@stux Sounds like automodding registrations might help. Signups require approval, an email is sent to the signup's email address anywhere from an hour to a day later asking for a reply with just the word YES (all caps) in it to confirm. If you get a valid reply an auto-handler approved the account, otherwise it gets dropped. I'd think someone has software to do this out there.
