As it is you are probably getting capital gains (it may be unevenly distributed). services some visible, some less so, and some insurance.For which you make a contribution to the expenses of the whole.
Perhaps the public are not as good at running what they own as they might be, nor at the oversight of the operation?

@Photo55 Governments sell things to entities outside the nation-state all the time. Often quite successfully too. And in fact, governments have a competitive advantage over other entities because they can go to war and put people in prison.
