I had to dust off my Twitch password for tonight's Critical Role. I have to say, I barely made it through the end of C3, so shaking up C4 probably isn't a bad thing from my standpoint.

@Tim_Eagon As usual, I will start watching it. For past seasons, I never finished watching the first episode. Too long for me and the tab sits there and eventually I close it unfinished. I still greatly appreciate what they do!

@Tim_Eagon Agreed. I didn't make it through C3. It's likely a combination of life, available time, and that campaign felt different to me. I didn't think it was bad, I just didn't connect to it the same way. I don't know if I'll watch C4, but I think it's cool that they're trying new things.

@Craig @Tim_Eagon @Alphastream I never watched a full episode. Only seen highlights and clips. Usually from someone else talking about the show.

But I am curious, what are they shaking up this season?

@Craig For me, it was too many guests, too many asides (the interlude in Aeor), and too much focus on Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein. All of that pulled focus away from the Hells Bells storyline.

@randomwizard @Craig @Alphastream Matt Mercer isn't going to DM, he's going to play; Brennan Lee Mulligan is going to DM. There's a new campaign world. Finally, there's also more players, though it looks like they're going to be divided into two groups.

@Tim_Eagon @randomwizard @Craig @Alphastream Despite being a loooooongtime D&D guy, I could never get into CR. I did try... And I do enjoy shorter, comedic D&D stage shows like HarmonQuest and D&D Live with the Baldur's Gate actors.

@croyle @Tim_Eagon @Craig @Alphastream I often felt like Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day had the idea first with the Titan's Grave, a long time ago now. But that just seemed to disappear.

@randomwizard @croyle @Tim_Eagon @Alphastream Felicia Day approached Mercer to get his game on Geeks and Sundry. She kept hearing about his game from voice actors. Apparently, they were in talks for a short bit. I believe they both premiered on G&S in June 2015, with Titan's Grave a few days before CR (I watched a lot of early G&S content 🙂).

@Craig @randomwizard @croyle @Alphastream is any G&S content other than CR available anymore (legally)?

@Tim_Eagon @randomwizard @croyle @Alphastream A lot of their old stuff (e.g., Titan's Fall, Tabletop) is still available on YouTube. They're still making content, but I haven't followed it. I believe they had a Pathfinder one-shot about 6 months ago with Deborah Ann Woll, Felicia Day, Matt Mercer, Brandon Routh, and others for Extra Life.
