Okay, I have to ask: What is it with #Fediverse developers running lousy #crowdfunding campaign?

1/ Okay, I have to ask: What is it with #Fediverse developers running lousy #crowdfunding campaigns?
I mean, I thought that the one for #Pixelfed wasn't great, but the one for #Bonfire is truly appalling. The Indiegogo campaign has been going on for what, almost a month? And yet there has not been a SINGLE update on their campaign page!
Look, if you want support, you need to actually talk to your supporters repeatedly, especially during an active crowdfunding campaign! How else are they going to be enthusiastic enough to spread the word about what you are doing? Give us some extra details about your plans beyond your initial description, or _something_! Make us _care_!

2/ "If you build it, they will come." is NOT how crowdfunding works!

@juergen_hubert bonfire is such a cool idea but it has huge vaporware energy, and this doesn’t help

Yeah, that's what I am worried about. If they can't do a proper #crowdfunding campaign, then how will they be able to reach their goals?
I mean, this is Marketing 101 for crowdfunding - you keep on talking about your project so that people stay invested. Or just remember that it exists. It shouldn't be _that_ hard to figure out a series of posts in advance to keep momentum.
That's what I did for my own #Patreon campaign. And it still keeps going, more than six years later.

I think pretty much all crowdfunding platforms have problematic aspects, although I don't remember what indiegogo's particular issues are.
