If you have a #blog , does it have #ActivityPub integration - either natively or via an appropriate plugin (such as the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress)?If so, share its account name here - so that people can follow them and comment on them with their regular #FediVerse account!I think this functionality is one of the most underappreciated aspects of the Fediverse. It's not quite an #RSS feed, but it's awesome in its own right.

With the launch of Ghost 6.0, every publication that runs on Ghost becomes part of the #fediverse. You can follow and comment on Platformer or 404 Media articles without leaving your Mastodon feed. At #FediCon, had a great chat with @jaz, who’s the executive director at @iftas.I admire all the work that he does, which makes the Fediverse so much safer. But he also had a profound point: when you’re attacked on the #Fediverse by bad actors, it sometimes feels like the entirety of the Fediverse is against you—it’s hard to appreciate that most people would rather be friends.

@marcellinusme @ApostateEnglishman Sure—my standpoint is that unless a server explicitly states it operates under the aegis of a non-profit, assume it is either for-profit or possibly for-profit. And the reality is, few Fediverse servers are under the aegis of a non-profit. Certainly, your server is—mastodon.social is not the typical Fediverse server. There are prominent servers, though, run by for-profit companies.But beyond servers, let’s consider hosts. Many of them are for-profit. Digital Ocean and Cloudron are certainly profiting from the many servers that depend on them.

You know what the #Fediverse needs? COBOL.Not for speed. Not for elegance. Just so every post feels like it’s being processed by a 1970s mainframe with cigarette burns on the console.#FediCon

Now hearing a talk from @cyberlyra@hachyderm.io about opt-out systems on the #Fediverse. She a sociology professor at Princeton. Spoke to her earlier and it seems like she’s thought about this topic in great detail. One of the big problems with the Fediverse is that people assume it works one way, but in practice it works quite differently.

It’s interesting—I primarily use the #Fediverse for blogging, not microblogging. People used to complain about that. But after two years, I haven’t received a single complaint. Which means people have got used to the notion that #ActivityPub does not need to be Twitter-like. #FedIcon

#Akkoma can support in-line links. Here’s an example. Works easily with Markdown. But the reason I don’t do this often is because there’s a preference on the #Fediverse for knowing the full URL.
