Actually, there aren’t any attacking mechanics because Racial Holy War is actually a very pro-peace and pacifist peace of work, didn’tcha know?

There’s another all-time-worst game called Racial Holy War, which is exactly what you’d assume from the title. And yes, it’s incompetently made to the point where they didn’t include mechanics for ATTACKING.

A lot of old stuff is super racist and well made. The Birth of A Nation was revolutionary in film and influenced many future movies despite literally being a movie about how awesome the KKK are. Lovecraft was famously racist as fuck and a lot of his “Eldritch horror” was sort of a metaphor for his fears of “primitive” religions and miscegenation. Even Lord of the Rings has racist elements - JRR Tolkein said in multiple occasions that he based the dwarves on Jews, which is pretty rough to modern readers given that the dwarves are more obsessed with gold and treasure than anything else.

Tolkien’s “inspiration” for Dwarves pulling from Jews is fascinating, as a Jew. I read that his thoughts were that Dwarves were a strong, resilient people who had been displaced from their homeland but maintained a strong attachment to their traditions and their craft. He saw this as a deferential depiction of Jews and was purposely trying to move away from European depictions of Jews as goblin-like monsters. What’s fascinating is how it is still riddled with antisemitic tropes such as the obsession with gold and also literally making them a different race of people who lived underground. It speaks to how deeply ingrained antisemitism was (and to an extent, still is) in the European mind while also lightly espousing Zionist ideas in how living in diaspora is somehow less than living in historical Judea.

I don’t doubt this, given the era the man was born, but have you got a source? I tried digging something up, and the only things I can find are that Khuzdul is based on Hebrew, and a lot of letters during and post WWII speaking highly of Jews and poorly of Hitler and the Nazis.

Would be hell to play, though, there’s definitely better horny RPGs to try

My issue with horny RPGs is that if you can find people to play with that are into whatever kink the book is catering to, why would you bother to play at all? Just have sex.

And on the flipside, if you dont want to have sex with the people you’re playing with, why play the sexy game? Just play a regular RPG

Today we learned about Bliss Stage which sounds a lot better than F.A.T.A.L in some regards.

There’s also Thirsty Sword Lesbians which focuses a lot on consent.

I agree. I normally don’t do it, but I still like to know when I’m about to get hit with some of that stuff. There are… some bad memories attached to it.

Obviously, that’s a… bishop. For the big chess board in the background. It even has a suction cup so you can play vertically.

I don’t disagree, but I also do very much appreciate a verbose tagging system (tumblr, e6, etc). Makes it easier to find what you’re looking for, alongside giving people warning. <br> Although I do think it’s best to be cautious regardless.

This is a space for RPG memes, and the meme is covering a topic regarding oversexualized female characters discussing being raped by monsters with a dildo on the table. I’m not perturbed by downvotes, but I noticed them for just asking for it to be tagged as NSFW. I’ve had some rough experiences trying to play tabletop games as a woman and would ideally not have to be reminded of poor behaviour in a space that’s supposed to be lighthearted.

I don’t expect everything to be made for me, that’s why I block a lot of ‘lewd’ content and a blanket NSFW block. I went through Barrens and CoD chat as a young woman so I know what you mean by ‘vastly better place’.

Try and have some empathy for why someone might not want to see this content.

I’m sorry. I agreed from the perspective of being disturbed by watching spaces becoming increasingly closed off (Such as clasic Pixar films no longer permitting comments on YouTube), not from an angle of wanting to genuinely return to the kinds of communities that the internet used to be composed of. <br> I do agree with you on tagging, I only wished to express a desire for a larger amount of tags for disambiguity, but clearly I clearly hadn’t considered that in doing so, I was making the space unsafe for you. <br> I originally left the post untagged because I hadn’t thought too much of it, but I have now adjusted in accordance with your commentary. I am sincerely sorry for not working to accomodate your concerns. I’ll exercise more caution in future and hope that this hasn’t too harshly soured your perspective on what is, from what I can see as a visitor, a generally pleasant community.

Hi. I think you combined comments of two separate people as coming from one person. My understanding is that OP agrees that your reasonable perspective is valid and reasonable and will do it’s best to be considerate about things like that it in the future.

Having empathy does not mean we have to work under the assumption that everything should cater to the most delicate of sensibilities (even if the reason for said delicate sensibility are well-justified). I am empathetic and I am sorry for the additional challenges navigating experiences like this can cause you.

I still stand by my point.

And to your point, yes tagging is a wonderful system and it does help those like yourself in your navigation. I support tagging and like OP mentioned, love systems that allow for robust tagging.

But let’s be clear, that kind of tag is a very kind and wonderful courtesy, the absence of which is not malicious, it is neutral.
