Username checks out. How is it you’re only 1 day old? Are there multiple Satansmaggotycumfarts? WTH?

Anyway, Trump and repugnican quarterwit reichsführer can gargle nuts.

      2 solutions:

      1. US resolution to accept global warming as real, with commitment to lower emissions on top of forest management resources in both countries (US wildfires occasionally annoy Canadians)

      2. US buys more Canadian Pine lumber.

We have reached a global warming tipping point where forest fires are at such extreme levels for 3 years in a row now, that fires offset global natural carbon capture from trees, which is about 1/4 of human emissions. Some of the arson, has been motivated by climate disinformation as “attempts to prove global warming is false by arson”. Global warming’s impact on forest fires is not more ignition. It is faster/wider spread of fires.

If everyone in Canada were employed as an “arson preventer”, they could patrol 10 hectares of forest each.

The forest fire thing is a combination of stuff not just global warming. Our forests have evolved to burn down And we have been preventing it for decades. Now we have forests with tons of deadfall and drier conditions die to global warming. They are going to be bigger and hotter fires.

We as humans have only ourselves to blame for these wildfires. We’re pushing this planet to it’s limits and it’s only going to keep getting worse.

We have also mismanaged our forests. Northern boreal forests are supposed to burn. We have stopped that from happening. Through in global warming and e have a tinderbox just waiting to ignite.

We’ve purposly lit all these fires just to ruin their summer, totally intentional, I swear it.

I’ve heard Pine monoculture is a contributor. Spruce is more fire resistant, and Pine beetles make kindling. Natural forests have a mix of Pine and Spruce.

Interestingly 24% of Canadians have a favorable view of the US and 87% of Americans have a favorable view of Canadians. Thats a 63% mismatch, and it was trending way down even before trump.

Canada hates us, but it's not all Trump's fault. : It's Been a Minute

The stereotype is that Canadians are kind, but they by and large do not take kindly to President Trump's idea of making Canada our 51st state. As of April, two-thirds of Canadians considered the U.S. to be "unfriendly" or an "enemy," and 61% say they have started boycotting American companies. However, Canadian dislike and distrust of the U.S. is not new. Canadian views of the U.S. have trended down for decades, from a high of 81% of Canadians holding favorable views of the U.S. under Clinton in the '90's, to hovering in the 50-60% range in the aughts, to only 24% favorable as of March. Meanwhile, 87% of Americans view Canada favorably. There's a huge mismatch there. So what's behind these decades of resentment? How does culture play into it? And what does it mean for our politics that our nations have fundamentally different ideas about our relationship to one another? Brittany discusses with Scaachi Koul, senior writer at Slate, and Jon Parmenter, associate professor of history at Cornell.
