Not casting aspersions or trying to cancel Skyrim Grandma, but the BDS movement is calling for a Microsoft (and by extension Bethesda) boycott. If you’re thinking about buying Oblivion Remastered, maybe don’t.

        Boycott, Divest, Sanction

Basically saying to not give Israel any money due to their human rights violations and genocide.

The fact that it is illegal for some Americans to advocate for BDS is a pretty big reason for people to say we need to do it

                  Boycott, divest, sanction, regarding Israel.

MSFT owns Bethesda, and MSFT is actively partnering with, providing software services for, right now, the Israeli government and military.

We have conducted an internal review and engaged an external firm to undertake additional fact-finding to help us assess these issues. Based on these reviews, including interviewing dozens of employees and assessing documents, we have found no evidence to date that Microsoft’s Azure and AI technologies have been used to target or harm people in the conflict in Gaza.

Microsoft (MSFT) has reportedly implemented internal email filters that restrict messages containing terms such as “Palestine,” “Gaza,” and “genocide.” The move, which Microsoft described as part of an effort to limit mass, non-work-related messages, has sparked accusations of censorship and bias — particularly amid rising employee protests over the company’s contracts with the Israeli government.

I would have said I cannot imagine how their internal culture of self censorship and sycophancy could get any worse, but apparently this is how.

I am very confident more than just these 4 people have been fired, or at the very least, had their careers/employment functionally slotted into an early grave.

If you have an ethics dilemma don’t buy any video games. None of the studios are doing what they should or paying their people well. None of these corporations are your friends, end the billionaire bosses aren’t good people, not even Gabe.

It’s Microsoft today, Nintendo yesterday, Sony the day before, steam tomorrow, cycle back, etc.

Again you may as well quit gaming if you’re worried about corporate greed

This isn’t an ethics dilemma. The BDS movement is specifically calling for this boycott. I’m trying to stand in solidarity with them in my own small way.
