Garlic salt, pepper, and paprika seasoned pepper jack cheeseburgers with mustard and barbecue sauce on toasted bagel buns.

This is an old photo, from 2018, but it is also one of the best photos I have ever taken of something I cooked. I spent a few days making the burger patties ahead of time and grilling them for lunch. The photo was to share with my coworkers to make them jealous because I lived close enough to work where I could actually cook a decent meal.

I’m currently sorting my backlog of photos, 12 years worth, and tagging them all for easier searching. When I came across this, I wanted to share.

Looks great. I probably would have just stacked those two patties on that one bun with that singular topping of condiments, but either way, nice!

Why is the back burger on a bagel?

They are both on bagels and the reasoning is because I had recently been introduced to bagels and quite liked them breakfast sandwiches, so I figured they would work for a lunch sandwich.

            hate the present so much.

a few years ago I’d say it’s amazing.

            but now?

such a crisp well defined image triggers all my AI sensors. and I’m spending more time being skeptical than being able to enjoy it

The grill marks on the bun are absolute perfection

I prefer a softer bun for something like a burger. Too hard to bite through the bagel without smashing what’s inside it.

Why did it take you a few days to make Burger patties?

Try toasting the bagel with a bit of butter then pressing it down slightly before assembling - makes it way more burger-friendly and you still get that awesome chewiness without squishing everything out.
