@littlealex That guy should be shot for saying what he did. Cancelled a big advantage that we might have had.
-
@littlealex Glad to hear it! So annoying they have to be connected up to iTunes any time they are just out the box or need a hardware reset ๐คช

-
@toxomat After a jailbreak they'd obviously need to replace some of the software , or at least data for mapping/targeting/EW. Not easy, so they better have already started preparing. @littlealex
@toxomat .. or do like the russians, duct-tape a Garmin to the cocpit-window. @littlealex
-
@littlealex sure. A thing where if you even daydream about making the colour one panel one shade lighter and they'd decertify the lot could be jailbroken as long as you enjoy redoing the lot.
-
@frlan @schnedan @littlealex Humans aren't capable of it.
@frlan @schnedan @littlealex @drwho
Maybe, and this is going to sound absolutely nuts, but maybe if we just rounded up all of the elite negative social entities, like psychos, child rapists, and other shitty things, and I mean people who make the world far worse factually and in the eyes of most actual people, we could, especially if we sent them to space, where they could be bombarded with loneliness and radiation, we might be able to live without the jets. Maybe.

@rythur @frlan @littlealex @drwho "we might be able to live without the jets. Maybe."
Hell No, then we can fly em for fun!

Wow, how did I miss the FUN?
Imagine THAT world.
You're definitely not going to space, man!
-
@drwho I'd contest that. but maybe not all humans. If you leave regular people alone, without propaganda and lies, they will come together.just fine. That's my experience.
@Tamtam That has not been mine.
-
@littlealex Allright if it is jail broken then what happens to warranty and continuing support? LM does update signatures for ECW and other fixes. Who will get that done?
In #IT and software we never crack open a proprietary provided solution. It is because of support and SLA.

@littlealex I think someone has underestimated the sheer mass of software in that jet and the implications of jailbreaking it.
Don't get me wrong, reverse engineering the software is probably a good thing, but the jailbreaking part is probably not. -
@frlan @littlealex The most pious cannot live in peace if the evil neighbour does not like it
German saying
@schnedan @frlan @littlealex "It's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war." Not sure the origin but it rings true.
-
Jailbreaking is not enough. Access to spare parts and general maintenance in a way that bypasses US control/interference is just as crucial.

The trouble with that approach is that normalising the idea of rounding up undesirables and isolating them from the population never seems to end well for the non sociopathic. Probably because the nasty bastards are just better at that sort of thing. -
@littlealex
Absolutely the best news, then we can be independent of the US and Trump's "friendly" comments about being about to turn off the fighter's abilities if they choose.In spite of "defence pacts" or treaties we never know who will be our enemy in the next war...
We fought alongside the yanks in 1917/18 then they left us high and dry in 1939/41. We looked at our "friends" through rose tinted glasses of the second half of the war BUT we must never forget they are our friends only as long as it suits them and currently they are NOT led by a friendly regimen who only make ANY friendly noises because of the inertia within their voters, (and will abandon us if they cannot rule us! So we need to be looking for folk with similar outlooks and beliefs and align ourselves there.
That sadly is not the US, it is a European Culture of ex=imperialism, and social support not found in the US even in the best of times and not currently.

@pmc @drwho in my experience it is just a few of them. And without a hierarchy and all the machinations of power, those few don't have the power to make the rest follow. In a social structure that is like a village or a group not bound to hierarchy, they have no clout That is why those few have such a need to build those opaque power structures. I don't want to convince you of anything. It's just my experience. Yours may be different.

@schnedan @littlealex build a world where noone needs a fighter jet at all
Well, drones are what's most relevant these days.
