Walked around Europe.

Walked around Europe. Ate two of everything that remotely looked like a Liege Waffle. "Carbs don't count if you're in Europe." is facts! That's just like, science, man.
Worked out at a gym in Amsterdam that has a magic fountain that dispenses unlimited free vitamin water and free protein shakes.

@mekkaokereke The carbs are absolutely more healthy in Europe! Bread doesn’t taste this good unless it’s actually good for you.

@samir @mekkaokereke I mean, bread in Europe spoils within a few days, like God intended. Meanwhile in the US, that stuff doesn't go bad for weeks. It's spooky.

@sophieschmieg @mekkaokereke It’s the same in the UK. My mind exploded when I moved to Switzerland. (Which has great bread, compared to the UK, but… sometimes I fantasise about moving to France.)

@samir @sophieschmieg @mekkaokereke Germans abroad: Can I have a slice of real bread, please?

Another German here. I lived in the USA for two months, back in 2008.
I was so traumatized by the experience that I have been baking my own sourdough bread ever since. Just in case I ever end up in an Anglo-Saxon country again.

@juergen_hubert @gunchleoc @sophieschmieg @mekkaokereke I think I would do the same now.
Prior to moving here, I didn’t really eat bread, because having a face full of cotton wool never really appealed to me.

You can tell that Germans take bread seriously by the many German folk tales detailing the horrible, horrible things that happen to those who disrespect bread.
