Dude. I propose to watch a (free) video that explains it. If one does not believe the video, what other option is there than to try for yourself? Unless you want to wait 3-6 months until open source models can do the same that things like opus4.6 can, and have proper hardware available, paying is the only way to try. That's just a fact. -

@juergen_hubert And by "these new technologies" I mean things like Opus 4.6 or ChatGPT 5.2. Not something from two years ago.

As it happened, I talked one of the developers about their thoughts on current AI tools for software development. He had apparently followed some recent #OpenAI tech demos, and was unimpressed how they created a massive, bloated, buggy mess they created which they were unable to fix.
He has also used some recent AI tools (I don't know which precise versions), and described its addictive qualities - when you fudge around with it, you seem to experience a "haze" until you come to your senses a few hours late and think: "What the hell am I doing?"
He is also convinced that increasing reliance on AI tools is why the quality of Windows 11 has been getting worse and worse.
He is _not_ averse to AI on general principle - he is frequently testing these tools out. But he also says that right now they are not living up to the hype.
As for his background, he has now worked seven years at my company, within the same software development team. Whatever code he implements, he has to live with it in the long run - whether he has written it himself or has generated it by AI.

So obviously, it's being hyped as the New Shiny Thing, but nobody has had the chance to truly evaluate it if it keeps the promises in the long run.
I work in _Sales_ these days. I know how this works.
