But uh, how does this work exactly?

IF the US where to invade Greenland, what do we do?

I totally lack any military skills but I certainly felt a strong urge to fight in Ukraine while it's in theory not even part of the EU

So yeah, if the US where to attack Europe because let's be honest.. that's what it is.. what do we do?

Like I said before, first it's a dictator in Venezuela but where does it end

Personally I'd rather die than be under US control 🤷 And I mean that

Small correction, Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe, but is not part of the EU.

@stux Put your support into things that you *can*. Support politicians making the right decisions, decry those that don't.

When it's close to home, every war effort ends up having things that most people "can" help with.

Places that have standing armies have soldiers that are paid to do that shit...your contributions will likely have to be elsewhere, even if it's just the moral kind of support.

Like, you know, not dismissing veterans when they come back home (this is what the US does).

@stux I always find it really good to remember that the US has not actually won a significant war since WWII. Korea, VIetnam, Iraq, Afghanistan… eventually, they had to withdraw in every case. And, also worth remembering, for the most part, they abandoned the people who helped them.

They may ‘invade’ Greenland successfully. It has a tiny population. But if they think, for a moment, they’ll be able to stay there comfortably, they have never met a Greenlander.

              They will, eventually, go home.

@stux I feel like the EU would probably let it happen because it is probably unthinkable to them, and also because trying to maintain positive relationships with the US is probably more important to them.

I hope it doesn't happen but am skeptical they'd do anything but try to appease the US in some way.

@stux I'm not a weapon-type-of-guy you know ... I once had a company outing, and it was in some post-military concrete complex, shooting with some several (shot)guns / calibers ... will never forget, but surely not my cup-of-tea. In that case i prefer some cyberhelp.

                          Yeah, not my thing thanks.

@stux Plenty of things to do at the cyber level. Besides the official cyber teams, I'm sure there will be numerous "resistance" groups doing cyber ops against US targets.
Time to read up on offensive security?
