@yoboseiyo I actually ordered an adjustable lamp for my art desk this very afternoon. But it won't be here 'til next week, I was working in my room instead of at my desk, andI shouldn't have been drawing anyway because my brain is pudding

Anyway I'm really satisfied with the proxy I made tonight, I think it's my best yet. I feel like I made a real breakthrough with markers, it looks good.
And, uh, we'll keep the kneaded eraser phone mount thing between us, right? >_>;

I keep stacking these proxies up and going Oh my god the deck is huge, it's too big, the cardstock must be thicker than I thought, it's gonna be such a pain to shuffle
and then I plonk down one of my standard commander decks next to it and go, oh, no, never mind, 100 cards is just a stupidly high number of cards

So I've been having trouble getting enough light to work with after the sun goes down and I finally broke down and just used my phone flashlight
And as I'm sitting there constructing a phone mount out of kneaded erasers and markers on the edge of my drawing board it suddenly struck me
what in god's name am I doing?

It's a pet peeve I know, but it annoys me there isn't really a good verb for working with markers.
Like, "I painted that" or "I've been drawing" for markers is just "I've been working with markers." You can't go, "Oh, that's my markering," that sounds daft as fuck.

I've got the deck in a playable state, just a few blanks left and it seems to work pretty well. Mostly what I have left to do are lands and a few Sagas, which are a *righteous* pain in the ass to illustrate. So much text! and an awkward frame! And half of these things reference events I wasn't around for!
