@moelassus I hope you can! It's hard to find a good group but it's so much fun when it happens.

We played our Pathfinder 2 game on Saturday and I enjoyed it. A lot of the session was just setting things up. We had to do some research and talk to some folks, and that was really up and down. I cannot remember a night when I've rolled so many ones and twos. But the team overall did well, so we got what we needed. Then we had to buy stuff, since we had gone back to civilization, and that took some time - we had to figure out what we were keeping and what we were selling, and then we had to figure out if the cool new stuff we wanted was available or not. My character got a better rune on her hammer and her shield got stronger. We all bought a bunch of antifungal stuff too, which helped later. After a LOT of that, it was time to go back into the mess that is Tanglebriar and try to find the tower where we thought the next Big Bad lived. We found it, and there is a DRAGON living there, which is terrible news for us. We are 16th level at this point. I don't know if I've ever felt like I was high enough level to take on a dragon. I sure don't feel like I am right now.We didn't end up fighting the dragon this time, but it's definitely happening next week. We took on some evil tree ents (I think they are Tanglebriar Regents?), and it took a while because we were trying not to use magic. We knew this was not the main event and we wanted to hold anything we could in reserve.I got in some good hits and I was in the right place at the right time to heal a couple of party members, so I felt good about how that went. We finally got a kind of rhythm going with how to use our different abilities. Like, the Champion is really good at frightening bad guys, so we should have her do that. Then the Fighter has something that allows her to do extra damage to an enemy that is afraid. So it makes more sense for the Champion to do the frightening, rather than the Fighter using Intimidating Strike. Then the Fighter can get in more hits with the extra damage.Even though we were taking some big hits, it was a good fight. Especially since we were going light on the magic. I got a critical hit on one of them and I knocked him down, which was cool. Then, once we had finally defeated all of those regents, we heard a scary sound and we looked up to see a dragon flying overhead. And that's where we left it! I did heal folks, but we didn't have time to do much else. So I imagine next week will be getting strafed by some kind of fungus-infested dragon. Huzzah.#Pathfinder2 #ttrpg

We played our Pathfinder 2 game this weekend and it was fun. We got started late because I had been at our local protest. This was the last "big" fight of this chapter in our adventure path, so we knew it was going to be tough.Boy howdy. Our mission was to retrieve a missing Wizard. The preference was to take him alive, but we were told that this might not be possible and if that was the case, to return with his body as proof that we had found him. Hokay. We got there and successfully observed for a while without being seen. Sure enough, we found the wizard we had been sent to retrieve, and he definitely looked like he was working with the bad guys. My character made a super high perception and noticed something a little bit "off" about him, but my follow-up didn't succeed so I couldn't get more information. It turned out that he had been possessed by a demon, but we didn't find that out until a lot further into the encounter. There were a whole bunch of priests. So many that they were a "mob" and were not separate people to fight. So if they got you, you had a chance to "save" but they were definitely going to do some amount of damage. I got mobbed once.I did a couple of Divine Immolation spells on the mob and managed to set them on fire (so they were taking persistent damage, which helped a lot). Our Wizard sent one of the enemy spellcasters into a Quandry, which was great - they were out of the fight for several rounds.Another medium-bad guy got taken out of the fight with another spell but I can't remember what it was. Basically several rounds of "you don't get to do anything." And while that was happening, the Champion dispatched that bad guy.So things were going well! And then the tide turned. I am playing a cleric. Will is one of my stronger saves. But not when I roll a 2.I got dominated. Luckily I rolled really poorly when I was directed to attack our Wizard (I missed every time) but I successfully healed the Biggest Bad almost up to full strength. Not great. Our Fighter got cursed. She suddenly believed she had no allies. Everyone looked like they had been taken over, and she couldn't understand language anymore. She still knew her assignment, so she dove in to get the Wizard that we were there to retrieve. Between her and our Champion, they knocked the demon right out of that Wizard. So that was a positive, but then we had a Fighter who trusted none of us (and got violent to the point where the Champion had to take a swing at her), we had my character healing bad guys and trying to whomp our Wizard, and the Champion was taking persistent bleed damage. It was looking kind of bad. But then I was able to shake off the domination, our Wizard put a Wall of Force in a good spot, and the demon that had been knocked out of the captured Wizard took enough damage that he fled. With everyone else defeated, the Big Bad also decided to exit the scene. So we didn't really triumph and we'll probably fight those two demons again, but we did rescue the Wizard and none of us died. And the Fighter was able to recover from the curse, so she knows we're her friends again.#Pathfinder2 #ttrpg
