I'm thinking of starting my own #PeerTube instance since the one I'm on might be closing next month.

I could afford a single user instance as long as I don't livestream. The price jumps from $10 a month to $40 if I want to livestream and that's not something I can afford, especially since I only livestream once to twice a week.

I could open up the instance to others for a monthly fee, but that feels like it may be a bigger pain in the ass then I think.

Ugh. I don't know what to do.

Not exactly a co-op (I recently just learned what that is!), but I think I'm accidentally building something similar - a community-funded, community-owned alternative to YouTube with optional membership tiers.

I'm still in the building phase. Started NorthTube (northtube.ca) as a PeerTube instance for Canadian creators/educators, set up an Open Collective for funding, and realized through browsing other collectives that formal co-op structure might be what I need for a platform like this

I'll keep my eye on your project (and others I found cool) for insight and inspiration!
