WRT the difficulty of Wilds, I fell less like it's an easier game than Rise and more like they just... give you all the stuff you could get by running around the map for five minutes pre-fight in Rise.
So instead of grabbing spiders and toads for extra knockdown, they just give you extra from wounds. Instead of running around grabbing bugs to boost your Atk, they just drop the monster's max HP.
I'm not saying it's *better* just that it's how it feels. #MonsterHunter #MonsterHunterWilds #gaming
I will say getting four -- OR MORE -- Paralysis procs in a seven-minute fight ON TOP OF wound knockdown, traps, trips, and KO does feel overpowered. #MonsterHunter #MonsterHunterWilds #gaming

@xerozohar I can see the advantage, but doing it this way also means you don't get to opt out -- in Rise, I could just not grab stat boosters, or subsist on what I got heading to the target. In Wilds, there's no way to turn the monster's HP back up.

@CactuarJoe hmmmm i guess. But more hp for the sake of more hp seems like busywork too.

Testing out the (possibly bugged?) interaction between the SnS and the Corrupted Mantle. Every tap of the Y gets you an additional damage instance? Which also applies status damage? I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be able to inflict Paralysis twice in thirty seconds.

@CactuarJoe ok i did some testing in the training room and the results are really weird. for the most part this also applies to every weapon, where the Y button attacks, and only the Y button attacks, produce this extra hit.
LS's Iai slash doesnt work with it despite being a Y button attack, most of HH's moveset works with it not just the Y button moves, only the last hit of lance's triple thrust activates it despite all the other Y attacks working

@CactuarJoe it works with gunlance's Y button moves, but also all of its Y+B melee sweeping moves. it worked with all of charge blade's Y attacks, but also with the B attacks only in axe mode. it doesnt seem to work with the bowguns but does seem to work with bow shots, despite not using Y to shoot, with bow it even seems to add an extra hit for each arrow which seems really absurd for elemental and status damage on that weapon lol.

Planning my eventual Artian weapon. A lot of it is gonna rely on getting really good Decorations, too, which sucks.
But I'm thinking, 3 Paralysis parts, all Affinity. That'll give me a base crit of 20%. Then we'll aim for Element infusions (curse the RNG, I'll start saying it now) maybe one or two Sharpness infusions. Then I'll need to find a Critical Status/KO (or Handicraft) gem, a Paralyzer 3 gem, and an Expert 3 gem.

@ObserverSourdough Yeah, I'm fully expecting a patch to change the Mantle, there's no way this is how they intended it to work. It's nonsensical.
