@stux@mstdn.social Sometimes I miss when an operating system was a set of interrupt handlers that you'd add to the the single floppy disk that also contained your entire software application.
No... often, actually. -

@stux is the disk bigger by default these days? Or are these updates just creeping away the precious gigabytes?

@stux I ain’t never upgrading to iOS 26 if I can help it. Stick with 18.7.2! I don’t like the look of liquid glass personally

@sayonaraminasan @stux I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18 that will not be updated to iOS 26, partly because I need it for developing apps, but also because iOS 26 is not very nice. It's all just fancy schmancy nonsense instead of what we need. While iOS might've needed a refresh, Liquid Glass was not the answer. It's got so many bugs and issues that won't get fixed. We're 5 months after release, and obvious bugs aren't fixed.
Apple's developers moved onto iOS 27. This is how it goes now.

@darkpaw same bro. Phone does what I need as it. I can only imagine that performance will be worse if I update it.

@andypiper Woah, can’t even imagine! But yeah, everything was sooo much smaller even a few decades ago
@stux @andypiper I remember running win98 with 64MB RAM
