@CactuarJoe I'm pretty sure this was the plot of the subsequent animated TV show, as to how they had Godzilla, like... not wrecking the city.

If you wanna join in, this week we're watching GODZILLA (1998), the truly awful American one. Apparently this Godzilla is an irradiated iguana created by the French, so I'm sure this is gonna be a completely normal movie.

I think the thing is this movie was written by people who thought everyone watching it would be stupid, so they had to make sure characters just said exactly what they were feeling while explicitly re-stating every plot point in very clear terms. #Monsterdon
