Hi, we are new on #Mastodon, looking for some #Hardcore #Punk #DIY network off the well known corporate social networks.

@fearskaper Everything here works with hashtags. When you use a hashtag, all users who follow that hashtag will receive your tweet. When you follow (subscribe to) a hashtag, you will receive all tweets that contain that hashtag. There is no other way to distribute your tweets.
So it is not necessary to collect followers, your toots reach the right users anyway.

Note that hashtags have somewhat limited reach, consider also subscribing to and mentioning !@punk (without the “!” – that’s just to not create noise there with this post).
