      Microsoft has seemingly had no idea what to do with XBox for at least a decade now, and I’m so confused by this. It’s like the XBox One announcement disaster convinced Microsoft that it was a zombie brand or something.

        @kichae I suspect the initial thought was that Game Pass would become the Netflix of video games.

        But they kept increasing the price over and over again, and games kept leaving the service within a space of a couple of months. Considering all the amazing deals on Steam and AAA games regularly going on sale for five or six dollars games—which you can keep indefinitely—Game Pass just didn’t look like that good of a deal anymore.
