I just saw a white person from Iowa make what they termed a “vintage taco” with these core ingredients:
- mashed potatoes
- peas
- bologna
- sour cream
- shredded cheese
The “tacos” did not have tortillas. The bologna slices replaced the soft shells.
How do you all feel about this?

I grew up on the east coast eating fried bologna with peas and mashed potatoes. I have a very soft spot for bologna with peas and mashed potatoes.
I suddenly know what cultural appropriation feels like!
